The Mighty Sparrow Has Died

 

The Mighty Sparrow,

The legendary Trinidadian, the Mighty Sparrow, has died at the age of 91. He was born in Grenada on July 9, 1935. He moved to Trinidad with his family when he was 1 year old.

Sparrow, who told many stories through his music, brought fame not just to Trinidad and Tobago but to the Caribbean as a region. 

He recorded 70 albums and approximately 500 songs over seven decades.

The Mighty Sparrow received the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT), and also an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of the West Indies. These are just some of the awards he received.
