Commissioner of Police VS Police Federation Head - Jamaica will Lose This Fight!

I am appealing to the Jamaica Constabulary top brass and the executives of the Police Federation to have a meeting and to have their differences arbitrated. This matter being dragged through the judicial system is a complete waste of time. We need a united force to deal with the criminals. The criminals must be laughing at us.

Over the years, organizations like the JTA and the Police Federation have functioned and operated similarly to how the NWU or the BITU operates. The difference is the leadership of the NWU, and the BITU do not report to the leadership of another organization. The leadership of the Police Federation, reports to the Commissioner of Police. He can take action against them!

We need to find a way to resolve this matter with the leadership of the Police Federation being answerable to the Commissioner of Police and, at the same time representing the rank and file of the force.

This impasse is affecting the morale of the force. We encourage citizens not to fight it out and to choose arbitration, but this dispute between the JCF hierarchy and the Police Federation is a big fight.

Mark my work, one side may win in court, but the nation is already losing. Do you think that the former Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown should arbitrate this matter and save our country from losing? The church leaders, union leaders, and civic group leaders are silent. Their silence is deafening!

At the end of the the elephants' fight, the grass will be left trampled.

Note:

Corporal Rohan James the Chairman of the Police Federation in Jamaica, is also the head of the Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Association.
